The Ever Nothing is an exploration of the relationship between space and sound, lyric and vocal interpretation, being and not being. Soundscapes stretching the ear to follow a whisper, a breath, to its end. Mining sonic spiritual depths to reveal vibrational layers and ethereal vocal dances. A lyrical narrative exploring mortality and transcendence of both body and consciousness. An emotional provocation.

Some are songs and some are less ideas, then discoveries. This process was at times more divining than writing. More organizing than analyzing. From “happy accidents” to broken equipment, the universe penned single misspoken words to sonic textures to entire arrangements and the title is a nod to our co-conspirator.”

The Ever Nothing is Damon Trotta creating songs, sonic landscapes and palates that were generally presented to vocalist Gwyn Farley on the spot in the studio to capture the spontaneity of the moment of creation. Lyrics and melodies were channeled, along side penned narratives, and left unchanged, authentic and in direct connection with the muse that sparked them. Sonic pictures, along side songs, were the objective and as hoped, the universe came to play along. “Because of the predetermined “channeling” aspect of the record, every obstacle, accident and re-imagining was considered a creative choice of the muse and a new directive to explore. It created exciting shadings and shreddings, that are at times invisible and at others overarching.It’s somehow nebulous and defined at he same time”
